The title of the post is a paraphrased quote from the movie Masquerade, an entertaining, yet not exactly awesome romance-mystery-thriller from 1988.
As I said yesterday, we spent New Year’s Eve at a party our friends hosted. I was all about celebrating being board-certified so I was in rare form. Newly board-certified me plus champagne plus Captain & Tennille plus karaoke equals entertainment for all. I thought Jason was playing with his phone in an effort to pretend to ignore me. You can quite clearly see the moment I realized he was recording my performance. It’s silly, but I hope it brightens your day. Or something.
The irony of posting this following yesterday’s post is not lost on me.
I’m in Dallas at the Art Therapy Conference, but before I left to come here, I made a vlog. As is characteristic of me, it’s long at almost 10 minutes, but I hope you like it.
While my whirlwind trip to Southern California got off to a highly idiotic start, once I got away from Red Peacoat and Khaki Pants, everything was groovy. The reason I originally booked the trip was to go to the Behavioral Diabetes Institute’s Celebration of Strength Luncheon for Women with Type 1 Diabetes, which would have been fabulous all by itself, but then my trip exploded with D-meetup goodness! Ninjabetic came down to San Diego for a night out on the town with me, and we had so much fun! We made vlogs, so you have to go to the B.A.D. Blog first to get our recap of the first half of the evening. Once you see how our evening started, you can then catch the thrilling conclusion here.
Mad props to George for coming up with No D Day, the day we have to blog, or this case, vlog about something other than the other thing about which we ordinarily blog. This is the result of my initial vlog idea having FAIL written all over it, combined with thinking while driving, which is usually prime thinking time for me. It might also have a little something to do with watching Glee last night.
P.S. No alcohol was consumed in the making of this video. I swear.
I know my blog posts are usually too long, and apparently that tendency is carrying over to the vlogs. I know I don’t vlog very often, but I’ll really try to work on that. In the meantime, I hope you can hang in until the end. I’m pretty sure you might possibly think it’s more or less worth it.
