My Lizard King
I know I’m way overdue to post another edition of Computer Monitor Monday. I had thought I might do it tomorrow, but tomorrow is D-Blog Day, so that’s not going to work. Next week is possible, but iffy because I’ll probably want to post some kind of recap of WDD. I’ll try to do one before the end of the month though. For now though, I thought I’d share these pictures of Dexter that I snapped a couple of days ago. Monitor lizards are considered the most intelligent of lizards, and that’s not just the biased claim of a proud momma. It’s something I’ve heard and read for all the years I’ve been keeping savannah monitors, most recently on Nova’s Lizard Kings. I like nature and science shows because I’m nerdy like that, and I positively loved Lizard Kings! If you appreciate nature shows too, I highly recommend it. I did get teary eyed at the segment towards the end with the behavioral research they were conducting on a savannah monitor lizard because s/he (they never specified the gender) reminded me so much of Smeagol, for whom I’m still heartbroken. Anyway, monitors are very smart creatures, and Dexter knows the way out of his tank is up, so he’s been calculating his escape, and I captured him doing research.
