D-Shirt
Back during the summer at BlogHer, I saw someone who had a really cute t-shirt for their blog, and it made me want to make one for mine. A couple of weeks ago, I decided to see what I could do. I opened Photoshop and started to design something, but I didn’t want it to just say “The Butter Compartment” since people don’t get the refernce unless maybe they have diabetes. I turned to Twitter, and Scott Johnson started throwing ideas out like he’d been storing them for just such an occasion. “Where Do You Keep Your Insulin?” was my favorite, so I went with it.
A super big thanks to Scott for his awesome suggestion when my inspiration was running low

Fantabulous! ‘course, my insulin is still produced by my body… the “butter compartment” holds yeast (for baking) and lithium batteries (for our glucometers, digital kitchen scale, handheld body fat percentage monitor, my cycling computer, etc.) Those things go through 2032’s as if they were as cheap and readily-available as AA alkalines!

Wow, Lee Ann, that’s the coolest blog shirt ever!!!! How did you make it? Did you print the logo out on iron-on paper? It makes me want a Bitter-Sweet shirt, but I’m sure it would look lame next to your masterpiece.

I haven’t been to your blog before today, I thought “The Butter Compartment” was a really neat name for a blog about diabetes but wasn’t sure if there was a connection. Uuuuuuntil I came back awhile later and was looking at your header and thought to myself “ha! That’s where I keep my insulin too.” aaaaand then it all clicked as I started reading your title again. Wow. I am SLOW on the uptake today!
