Special Delivery

Last week, I posted a reminder that I’m collecting diabetes trash for the workshop I’ll be facilitating at the local art therapy chapter conference next month. Today I received the first package of diabetes trash! Cara had told me she’d shipped it, so I was expecting it any day, but because I’m also expecting a few packages of things I ordered for Jason for Christmas, every time the postman or UPS guy or FedEx dude stops by the house, I’m never quite sure what will be waiting for me on my doorstep. It turned out that the “plain” paper in which Cara had wrapped the box of supplies was actually shiny red Christmas wrapping paper turned inside out, which out a huge smile on my face because I’m the weirdo who feels like the generous donation of diabetes trash is actually a gift from the heart. Big (((hugs))) and thanks to Cara for taking the time to help me, and in the process, totally brightening my day :)

  1. I have an envelope of Dtrash in the front seat of my car but the line at the post office has been too long to get thru it on my lunch break. I found out a local grocery store has a post office inside, will try that tomorrow. I never thought I’d make such an effort to mail trash to someone. Ha ha

  2. I totally had no brown paper to wrap it in! It was last minute in a hurry and I thought “what can I use to wrap this package??” and there on my living room floor was my wrapping paper. :) I’m glad you liked it. Too bad I couldn’t send it wrapped the right way. :D
Merry Christmas! (Can you consider D-trash your worst Christmas present ever? ;) Cause after all, who gives trash for Christmas?)

  3. I’ve been collecting for you too and will try to send this weekend or next week. Though my trash (at least right now) is not nearly as organized as the above. It’s been interesting to see just how much there is!
